Understanding the Technologies

Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP)

Using large fans to pull air across coils filled with refrigerant they absorb the ambient heat from the air outside. This elevated heat is then transferred to your home’s central heating system, powering radiators, underfloor heating, and hot water.  The process is similar to what your fridge does but in reverse.  

Unlike gas or oil boilers there are no harmful emissions, super efficient and their running costs can be offset by both solar PV and battery storage.

Battery Storage

A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) captures and stores electrical energy in rechargeable batteries that can be used during peak energy periods or outages.   Charging the batteries can be done during off peak hours when the electric is cheaper or with the use of renewable sources like solar PV or Wind Power.  The power from your batteries can offset your heating costs if you have an Air Source Heat Pump.

Heat Ventilation Recovery Systems

A Heat Ventilation Recovery (HRV) System is an energy-efficient, whole-house ventilation system. It continuously exhausts stale, damp air while drawing in fresh outdoor air, capturing up to 95% of the outgoing heat to warm the fresh incoming air.

Solar PV

Solar PV (photovoltaic) system captures sunlight and converts it directly into usable electricity. It reduces reliance on the national grid, lowers your carbon footprint, and can significantly cut energy bills by offsetting your heating (Air Source Heat Pump), charging battery storage or using the electric during sunlight hours to power driers, dish washers and washing machines.
